New meets old at the shop tracks.
Southampton Street Yard

The old "Welcome Sign" at Southampton Street Yard. They finally had to replace it because so many names of managers had been changed they practically wore it out!

"The Bones"
Waiting for the switch list.

Not only are the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox traveling by train, the Legends of Baseball are as well! Here we find Conductor Gary Libby (who was incapable of throwing a baseball as a child) surrounded by former Boston Red Sox stars including the great Luis "El Tiante" Tiant  (wearing Gary's hat).

HOLLYWOOD VISITS THE NEW HAVEN RAILROAD!!
The New Haven train and engine crew pose with Hollywood Starlet Doris Day.
The crews were on the property to film "It Happened to Jane."

"This film should have been a hit. It had all of the elements for big box-office.
It had Doris Day in the leading role and two terrific co-stars -  Jack Lemmon and  Ernie Kovacs."
