MORE OF THE BLACKOUT OF 2003

Here's a cast of characters if I ever saw one.
L.C., Harry Zabar, Paul Hayhurst and Larry check out our equipment after we
made it back Penn Station.
We arrived shortly before 1am.
Harry was the LSA in the Cafe Car on our train and he did
an absolutely magnificent job, as did the First Class OBS crew.
These guys were on their feet for 9 hours taking care of
the passengers. Because of their excellent work, everyone remained calm.

The Amtrak Police Command Center on duty next to
Pennsylvania Station.

By 1 am there were about 30 Boston and New Haven crew
members living a nomadic life within the lower levels of Pennsylvania
Station, moving from one train to another to stay cool and in some cases, to
find food and water.

Ray Fischer spent most of the lost night dreaming about
"Clydesdales"
His favorite type of horsey.
