When this ad ran in major magazines, Howard Johnson had 6 ice cream factories, 4 candy and jam plants and 40 Ford trucks to service 230 Howard Johnson Restaurants. The restaurant shown above looks exactly like the one across from my home when I lived in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston.
