Fred Harvey. The man who set the standards for superior service on the Santa Fe Railway routes.

Breakfast in the main dining room. The standards and quality of service are still very high here although the Santa Fe Railway and Fred Harvey are mere memories.

Me standing in front of the main entrance to El Tovar. Not much has changed here since this magnificent hotel opened it's doors nearly a century ago!

A view of the main lobby looking in from the front doorway. Thankfully, they removed the animal heads years ago from the dining rooms. I can't stand the thought of having them look down at me as I devour their cousins.

Me again. Another view of the main entrance.

The Grand Canyon Railway operates service between Williams, AZ and Canyon Village, along former Santa Fe Railway right of way.
